    Responding to the Pressures of Lower Commodity Prices

    Tim Crossley, Advisory Board Member for Siecap, served as a moderator to the panel discussion, Responding to the Pressure of Lower Commodity Prices. Tim is a highly accomplished mining executive with more than 20 years industry experience. Currently in controlling his own investment facilitation and board advisory services company TESC Pty Ltd, which contracts to private companies and clients in mining and agriculture. In addition, Tim is also part of Siecap, a specialist project management and advisory firm.

    Joining the panel were two representatives from Mount Iron Gibson. Robert Cronin serves as the General Manager for Projects and is responsible for the major project-related activities. Robert is a degree qualified Mechanical Engineer with more than 20 years background in the industry. Also from Mount Iron Gibson, Andrew Thomson, former COO joins the panel with his 30 years experience. Andrew offered his strategic thinking and specific expertise in asset management, mining and infrastructure operations.

    Former Managing Director of Karara Mining, Dale Harris, also joins the discussion. The panelists highlighted the internal actions needed to reduce overheads and improve operations productivity. Panelists also discussed managing costs out of the supply chain and questioned methods after a company has pulled these levers.
