Panel Discusses Network Security – What’s New and How to Combat New Risks

Day 2 of the CIO Leaders Summit Hong Kong, hosted a  panel discussion on Network Security –  What’s New in Cyber Security? How are CIO’s Combatting New Security Risks?  Moderated by Andrew Anker, the panel engaged the audience with their expert thoughts on the growing risks of the Digital Age. Andrew is the former CISO for AIA Insurance and is an experienced senior leaders driving business transformation through innovative technology adoption. Andrew also addresses the cyber security agenda across Asia. Andrew’s career is extensive and spans from roles including Board Member to Functional Leader.

 

Also going the Panel was Shane Read, CISO for Noble Resources and is based in Hong Kong. Shane has previously been with the Australian Federal Government for 15 years, mainly in the Department of Defense. Shane oversaw the Department as their Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO). Shane brought his passion for the industry, along with this broad experience to the panel. Shane believes that CISOs must continue to build the Boardroom’s understanding of InfoSec and the delivering of overall programs. He also highlighted the need to keep up to date and experiment with new and emerging technologies.

 

Finally, Martin Eber, Head of Business Information & Risk, Asia Pacific, HSBC, going as the final panelist. Martin encompasses over 11 years experience in the Information Security and Technology Risk sector. Working directly with business and function management to ensure InfoSec and technology risks are suitably managed, identified and mitigated through the establishment and improvement of strong IT control environment. He was worked in a number of varying industries from Assurance, Consulting and now Finance. Currently Martin oversees 275 Divisional Business Information Risk Officers responsible for the daily first line Information Risk Management of global bank gin & markets. Martin also functions in 19 countries across Asia Pacific. Martin’s unique and broad experience brought valuable insight to the panel and to the audience of Asia’s top IT Leaders.
