Hardening Hospitality: Safety And Security Concepts In An Industry Built On Trust And Free Access

Closing day one of the Security Leaders Summit was Michael Dalton, Director of Security & Risk Management for Marriott Hotels Australia. Michael spoke on Hardening Hospitality: Safety And Security Concepts In An Industry Built On Trust And Free Access. He highlighted building a security culture among hotel staff, while utilising the return on investment to property owners and operators. Michael also demonstrated the leveraging of relationships with law enforcement.

 

As the Director of Safety, Security and Risk Management Michael oversees several Marriott properties in NSW and VIC. Michael had earlier that day sat on a panel discussing the rise of CCTV surveillance in commercial security. His a career is over 25 years and Michael has been involved in security operations within Defence, the resource sector, Australian media and international aid projects throughout the world. The Marriott Hotels has over 5,000 properties worldwide and is well-known establishment.
