Synopsis and overview of the session

Transformed networks exhibit a set of characteristics which deliver and position the network as a business enabler and catalyst to drive digital transformation and innovation.

Focus Network, in partnership with Verizon will be bringing leading IT executives to share how Software Defined Networking, Network Visibility and Automation/Orchestration are some of the critical characteristics that are transforming their customer’s networks.

In this session, we will discuss:

  • How SDN improves agility and resilience and makes Network as a Service (NaaS) offerings a reality
  • How to improve customer experience by getting visibility into application services and not just tracking network quality
  • How to improve operational efficiencies through automation and leveraging the API economy

Tony Harb_New

Tony Harb, Head of Solution Architects, Australia & New Zealand, Verizon

Tony has responsibility for driving a secure digital transformation journey for Australia’s Federal Government agencies & Enterprises. Tony leads a team of consultants and architects focused on the provision of a range of managed network and security services to both Australian Enterprises and the Federal Government. He is also responsible for the solution strategy that supports Verizon’s Australian business. Recently he has been integral to establishing Verizon’s partnership with NBN Co.

Through his current role and throughout his career, Tony has also owned customer’s technical relationships and had the opportunity to leverage new technologies to deliver customer’s business outcomes.

Tony has been with Verizon since 2010, but has more than 20 years of experience in the IT and Telecommunications industry. His career has encompassed both Engineering, Sales and Leaderships roles in both Global Enterprise and Service Provider organisations. This includes roles based outside of Australia, including the UK.

Tony is passionate about ensuring that Australian organisations have access to the latest technology and innovation. Thus helping Australian organisations maintain a leading position globally in the digital world.

Tony holds a Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Technology, Sydney and a major in Telecommunications. Tony has also held multiple technical certifications and is also an Associate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Russell Reed

Russell Reed, Head of Enterprise, Verizon

Russell Reed is the Head of Enterprise Sales for Verizon Business Group in Australia. Russell has responsibility for leading a team of experienced client partners to drive a secure digital transformation journey for Australian Enterprise businesses.

Russell is an experienced sales leader in the enterprise ICT & telecoms service provider industries, having worked in leading local & global vendor & service provider organisations. Russell has more than 20 years experience leading customer focused teams in high-impact, strategic client engagements with well known Australian & global businesses. Prior to joining Verizon in October 2020, Russell was responsible for the A/NZ Networking business at Citrix, and has previously led various strategic account management & business development functions at Telstra and Ericsson.

Russell is committed to building long-term, mutually beneficial customer relationships, and helping organisations to harness the power of leading technologies to realise value for their business, drive improved employee & customer engagement, and keep themselves & their digital assets secure.

Andrew Milroy, Founder, Veqtor8

Andrew Milroy is the founder of Veqtor8, a digital risk advisory firm, based in Singapore. His work involves empowering organisations to manage risk more effectively.

He is a well-known technology thought leader and speaker in the APAC region.
