Synopsis and overview of the session
As we navigate the cybersecurity landscape of 2025, enterprises in Malaysia face a rapidly evolving array of challenges and opportunities. CISOs are at the forefront, balancing the integration of technological advancements with adherence to regulatory requirements.
CISOs are focusing on several critical priorities in this region: enhancing AI-driven threat detection capabilities, implementing zero trust architecture, addressing human risk through training and culture-building, ensuring compliance with the Cyber Security Act 2024, navigating ethical AI implementation, combating sophisticated ransomware threats, strengthening data privacy protections, and fostering collaborative threat intelligence sharing. These interconnected strategies aim to create resilient security frameworks that can adapt to rapidly changing threats while maintaining regulatory compliance and stakeholder trust, ultimately future-proofing organizational cybersecurity in an increasingly complex digital environment.
This roundtable aims to equip IT and cyber leaders with a deep understanding of methods to anticipate and adapt to rapidly changing AI-driven attack vectors; the continued importance of security awareness training, and the need for a symbiotic relationship between human expertise and AI systems in cybersecurity in line with compliance requirements.
Key discussion points:
- The evolving human risk landscape, where traditional vulnerabilities now intersect with sophisticated social engineering and AI-enhanced threats. We’ll explore how threat actors leverage generative AI to create more convincing phishing attempts and deepfake attacks.
- How to enhance security with AI-driven advanced threat detection and response capabilities to swiftly identify and neutralize sophisticated cyber threats
- Adoption of zero trust architecture principles to safeguard sensitive data
- Addressing human risk through employee training and security-first culture to mitigate social engineering and insider threats
- Balancing investments in human-centric security approaches with technical compliance requirements of the Cybersecurity Act 2024
- The concept of using “good AI” to combat “bad AI,” exploring how machine learning and artificial intelligence are being used against evolving ransomware tactics, and the ethical considerations that arise when using AI
