Session Overview
For many Australian organisations, the Essential Eight is the de facto cybersecurity standard to follow in order to improve and measure their cyber posture. Almost two years in since the Essential Eight maturity model was updated in late 2023 by the Australian Cyber Security Centre (ACSC), 62% of cyber incidents leading to notifiable data breaches were the result of compromised credentials with a further 24% related to ransomware – both threats that the Essential Eight directly addresses.
We understand that meeting the Essential Eight may not be an easy process for many organisations. It is our mission to support businesses and bodies by keeping the process simple, increasing their cybersecurity maturity without compromising productivity or adding to operational complexity. Modern Privileged Access Management (PAM) solutions can remove the inherent complexity and ongoing overheads of traditional solutions, secure the
access of both employees and remote third parties all while helping organisations bridge the gap for multiple requirements of the Essential Eight, including application control, user application hardening and restricting admin privileges.
BeyondTrust invites you to a discussion among peers, held under the Chatham House rule, on the challenges and successful strategies taken to increase organisational security posture over lunch.
Four key takeaways attendees will learn by taking part in the session
- Hear from your peers on how they are approaching the Essential Eight
- Understand their leadership engagement and planning to foster and strengthen a cybersecurity culture in their organisations
- Learn how identity security maps against the Essential Eight, NIST and other frameworks including the rise of non-human identities
- How artificial intelligence can help us yet pose a threat at the same time
