Synopsis and overview of the session

Enterprises are looking at ways to drive business agility and innovation. And, to meet this business need they are transforming the way services are delivered by embarking on various digital transformation initiatives ranging from Cloud Transformation, Application modernization (Lift and shift to refactoring), Technology refresh, shift from legacy environments etc.,. while they are trying to meet the challenge of delivering existing digital services in a reliable way.

A bigger challenge that they face in their existing as well as in the transformed world is around how these services are delivered. These mission-critical and revenue-generating services are not delivered by a single application, platform or by a single IT Team. It often involves a set of applications (ERP, Databases etc.,), technologies (.net based, Java )running on a hybrid environment (Cloud- AWS, Azure, GCP, On-Prem – Hyper-V, VMWARE, Mainframes etc.,) managed by various teams (Database teams, Windows, Unix, Cloud Ops, Application ops, file transfers, DevOps etc.,).
Also, when these activities are executed in siloes without a centralised point of control. They tend to have – longer processing times, issues which require extensive troubleshooting, errors that require manual intervention, lack of visibility for their internal business teams and in short, unable to deliver a reliable and a stable service at all times.
It is this complex set of steps, activities within a workflow, if optimized and orchestrated can provide exponential benefits around saving Cost, reducing risk, reducing complexity and driving agility and innovation around various digital and cloud transformation activities within organisations.
Many of our customers have invested in a service orchestration and automation platform to automate everything and run anywhere. These go beyond tactical IT automation that meet the near term needs for reducing manual effort and its associated errors and costs .SOAPs go beyond it, by orchestrating a much more complex workflows across multiple platforms and applications from a single point of control, access and monitoring to support an organisations revenue generating or mission critical services. Thereby ensuring that services are delivered at scale and innovation is carried out at the pace of business.
Gartner predicts that by 2024, 80% of organisations will switch to SOAPs to orchestrate their application workflows. Some of the key elements of a service orchestration and automation platform are:
  • End to end application workflow orchestration
  • Event driven automation
  • Scheduling, monitoring, visibility and alerting capability
  • Self service automation
  • Resource provisioning
  • Managing data workflows

Focus Network, in partnership with HCL Software, will be bringing leading IT executives to discuss orchestration challenges with a handful of senior executives and market leaders in an informal setting from which you will emerge with new strategies and solutions you can immediately put to work.
