National Safety Manager, DHL Express, NZ

I am an experienced Health, Safety, and Wellbeing Manager with over a decade of expertise in New Zealand’s supply chain, freight forwarding, and transport industry. My focus is on managing multicultural workforces and implementing effective health and safety strategies that meet local and international standards.
Currently, I serve as the National Health and Safety Manager at DHL Express New Zealand Limited, leading a dedicated team to enhance safety standards nationwide. I work closely with the Regional Safety Manager for the Asia Pacific to integrate health and safety protocols into our daily operations. My expertise includes ISO 45001, AS/NZ Safety Standards, the Health and Safety at Work Act, and other relevant regulations.
Before joining DHL Express NZ, I worked with Waste Management New Zealand Ltd, Woolworths New Zealand, and the Automobile Association, where I developed my skills in health and safety management.
I have successfully digitized safety systems at DHL, introduced 12 key safety rules, and implemented an AI CCTV system for compliance monitoring. Notably, I led New Zealand to become the first country in DHL’s network to digitize its health and safety system and establish an AI safety non-compliance monitoring framework. Within two years, I reduced lost time injuries from the highest rate in the Asia Pacific to Zero incident, making New Zealand a top performer.
My commitment to employee health and wellbeing was recognized with DHL Express NZ receiving the Southern Cross NZ-Way Finder Medium Business of the Year 2023 bronze award. With a Post Graduate Diploma in International Studies and a Bachelor’s degree in Business with Human Resources Management, I actively pursue professional development in health and safety. My diverse background and proactive approach help foster a safe and healthy work environment.
