Jonathan has held senior management positions in both government and the private sectors in the UK, Australia, and New Zealand. In New Zealand these have included Chief Security Officer for New Zealand Parliament, Director of National Security Operations for the Ministry of Justice and Head of Health, Safety, Security and Chief Privacy Officer for the Ministry of Education. His overseas roles have included managing witness protection, maximum security prisons and refugee centres.
In recent years Jonathan has led successful security and risk consultancies in both New Zealand and Australia, he has a passion for helping organisations understand the ‘all hazards” approach to security risk management to enable organisations to build resilience which enables a safe and secure work environment. Jonathan prides himself in demystifying protective security for clients as he works in partnership with them to shape proportionate, pragmatic solutions to safeguard their people, information and assets.
Jonathan will take the audience on a journey from Global geopolitics to individual staff members working in public facing roles in New Zealand………..distance is no longer a protective factor.
