Jacqueline Agius has been the ACT Work Health and Safety Commissioner since April 2020 and the Commissioner of the Labour Hire Licencing scheme since May 2021. With extensive experience in industrial and work health and safety laws, she is dedicated to improving health and safety standards in Canberra workplaces. Ms. Agius focuses on creating a strong safety culture through regulatory responses and accountability. Passionate about positive outcomes, she addresses psychosocial hazards and has established a dedicated team at WorkSafe ACT. Previously, she was a senior industrial officer with the Australian Education Union, ACT Branch, and a legal practitioner specialising in criminal law.
