Marcus Tan is the Head of the Cybersecurity department at the Institute for Infocomm Research (I2R), A*STAR, Singapore. He leads the department in the research and development on various topics within the cybersecurity domain, such as AI for Cybersecurity, Deepfake & Fake News Detection, Privacy Enhancing Technologies.

After graduating from National University of Singapore (NUS) with a Bachelor in Electrical Engineering and Master of Engineering, he started his career at the Centre for Wireless Communications.  In his 30 years of professional career, he has assumed various technical leadership roles in Cap Gemini Ernst & Young, Siemens R&D and EurekaPlus, prior to joining I2R.

Marcus Tan has attained the certifications of CISSP, CCSP, CISA in the cybersecurity domain and PMP for project management.
